Grilled Brown Sugar Salmon

This simple grilled salmon recipe – while few in ingredients – is mighty in flavor.

The combination of brown sugar and lemon pepper give this fillet just the right amount of bite.

Ingredients

 

  • 1 1/2 pounds salmon fillets
  • 2 teaspoons lemon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/3 cups soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil

 

Preparation

  • In a small bowl, combine lemon pepper, garlic powder and salt
  • Lightly rub salmon fillet with dry ingredient mixture to coat
  • In another bowl, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, water and vegetable oil
  • Whisk until sugar is dissolved and ingredients are well mixed
  • Place salmon in a large, re-sealable plastic bag
  • Pour marinade in plastic bag, seal, and turn to coat
  • Refrigerate salmon for at least 2 hours
  • Fill grill with Cowboy Hardwood Lump Charcoal and light
  • Once coals are ashed over, remove salmon from the refrigerator and discard plastic bag and marinade
  • Place salmon on a sheet of aluminum foil and fold to lightly seal
  • Place foil-wrapped salmon on grill and cook for approximately 14 minutes, or until the fish flakes easily with a fork
  • Remove salmon from grill and enjoy!
