Smoked Turkey

Your whole family will love this whole turkey. 

Ingredients

Cowboy® Wood Chips

One 10-12 lb Turkey or your desired size

Olive Oil

Jack Daniel’s Chicken Rub

1 - Medium Onion Quartered

1 - Large Carrot halved and quartered

2 - Stalks Celery

1 - Medium Apple

Preparation

  1. Light your grill according to the instructions.
  2. Remove the turkey from the package, remove the neck and giblet bag from inside the turkey, and remove any plastic or wire ties holding the legs in place rinse and dry well.
  3. Coat all sides of the turkey with a light coating of olive oil, followed by a liberal dusting of Jack Daniel’s Chicken rub inside and outside of the cavity.
  4. Season fruit & vegetables with Jack Daniel’s Chicken Rub and place in cavity and neck of the bird.
  5. Place the bird on your grill or in your cooker as directed.

  7. Add wood chips of your choice to enhance flavor of the bird. Place wood chips directly on or over the coals.
  8. Remove the smoked turkey from your cooker and let rest 15-20 minutes, bringing the final temperature to 165°.
  9. Carve, serve and enjoy!
