5 honeycrisp apples, peeled and sliced
1/4 Cup sugar
3/4 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1 tsp lemon juice
1 Cup old-fashioned oats
1 Cup brown sugar
1 Cup flour
1/2 Cup chilled butter, cut into small cubes
1/2 cup caramel sauce
Prep your pellet smoker with Cowboy Charcoal and Apple Barbeque Pellets for 375 degrees F.
Mix the apples in a large bowl with sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice until coated.
Set aside.
In a large bowl, combine the flour, oats, brown sugar, and chilled butter and using your hands, mix, crumbling the butter to combine the ingredients into a grainy sand consistency.
Add the apples to a large cast iron skillet.
Top with the crisp topping.
Place in a preheated smoker and close the lid. Smoke the apple crispy for 45 minutes.
