EASY CHARCOAL GRILLED TRI-TIP

This is an easy and delicious recipe for tri-tip grilled over all natural Cowboy Mesquite Hardwood Briquets and Apple Wood Chunks. Watch the video for a demonstration of how to easily grill tri-tip.

Ingredients:


2 to 3 lbs Tri-tip
2 tbsp Salt

1 tbsp Pepper

1 tbsp GirlCarnivore Ooomami Powder

1 tsp Jack Daniel's Steak Seasoning

PREPARATION: 

 

  1. Trim tri-tip if needed removing any silverskin
  2. Rub liberally with salt, pepper, Girl Carnivore Ooomami, and Jack Daniel's Steak Seasoning. 
  3. Allow the meat to come to room temp 45 minutes. 
  4. Preheat grill for indirect heat with Cowboy Mesquite Hardwood Briquets.
  5. Add apple chunks to outer corners for smoke.
  6. Smoke meat over indirect 25-30 minutes
  7. Finish over the hot side of the grill, with a good crust.
  8. Allow the tri-tip to rest, 10 minutes before slicing
  9. Slice tri-tip against the grain, which for tri-tip means rotating the cut as it has two different grains. See our full video for the full recipe and tutorial.
