WOOD-FIRED RIBEYE STEAKS

It's hard to beat a good steak and the key to great steaks, use good fuel, and buy good meat. Watch how to make the best wood-fired ribeye steaks in your pizza oven using hickory and pecan wood with simple ingredients. It doesn't get much easier than tossing steaks in a cast iron pan and cooking them in a good pizza oven.

Ingredients:


2 bone-in ribeye steaks 

1 tbsp Olive oil

Salt 

Pepper 

Shanty Steak Seasoning - Gypsy Bistro 

4 tbsp butter

Rosemary 

4 cloves garlic, smashed 

preparation:


Prep your pizza oven to preheat with a fire made of Hickory Pit-Style Cookin' Wood and pecan wood to around 700 - 750F. 


Allow the steaks to come to room temperature. 


Rub the steaks with olive oil
Season the steaks liberally on both sides with salt and pepper


Season with Shanky Steak seasoning or your favorite steak seasoning if using. 


Place steaks into a well-seasoned cast iron pan.
Slide the pan into the pizza oven and cook steaks for about 3 to 4 minutes (Adjust the time based on the thickness of your steaks) 


Carefully remove the pan from the pizza oven and flip the steaks. 


Add the cast iron pan back to the pizza oven and cook the steaks 2 minutes more. 


Carefully remove the pan from the oven and add the butter to the top of the steaks.
Add the garlic and rosemary. 


With a long-handled spoon, ladle the butter over the top of the steaks. 


Flip the steaks and ladle over top. 


Check that your steaks have temped to 130F for medium-rare with an instant-read thermometer.


Rest the steaks for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
